Moving a downed rider can worsen spinal injury.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Block traffic — use another person or vehicle hazard lights.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Check if rider is breathing — look at chest, listen at helmet vent.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112. Say motorcycle crash and exact location.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — If bleeding, apply firm pressure with cloth — do not move head or neck.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112 or 108. Say: "Motorcycle accident. Rider down at [location]."

REALITY: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Helmets stabilize the neck. Only remove if the rider cannot breathe and trained help is not available.
DANGER: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Improper helmet removal can cause permanent spinal damage.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Riders are exposed — head, chest, and limb injuries are common. Adrenaline may let them stand with serious injury.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Helmet removal without training can worsen neck injury.
