DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — A person fell from a ladder, roof, balcony, tree, or building. They may have multiple injuries including head, spine, chest, and limbs.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Not responding, confused, or vomiting after fall.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Neck or back pain, limb deformity, or open wounds.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Difficulty breathing, pale skin, or weak pulse — shock.
Scene hazards: Unstable surfaces, Falling objects, Traffic below, Electrical lines
Assume spine injury until professionals rule it out.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Ensure scene is safe — look up for more falling objects or unstable ladder.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112. Say fall from height with possible multiple injuries.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Leave person flat. Do not sit them up to talk.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — If bleeding, apply pressure around wounds without moving broken limbs.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Cover with blanket. Stay with them until ambulance arrives.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112. Say height of fall, surface landed on, conscious or not, breathing status.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — All significant falls from height need trauma team evaluation at hospital.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT move them to a bed or vehicle unless life-threatening danger on scene.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT give water even if they ask — surgery may be needed.
MYTH: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — If they can stand up, the fall was not serious
REALITY: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Adrenaline can mask fractures and internal bleeding. Standing can worsen spine and pelvic injuries.
DANGER: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Walking someone with unstable fractures before assessment.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Falls from height often cause hidden injuries — internal bleeding, spine damage, and brain injury together.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — The height of the fall and what they landed on both matter — concrete is worse than soft ground.
