DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — A child is submerged, unconscious, or having a seizure in the bathtub.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Child is under water and not coming up.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Child is having a seizure in the tub.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Child is limp, blue, or not responding after bath.
Scene hazards: Slippery bathroom floor, Electrical appliances near water, Hot water burns
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Pull the child out of the tub. Lay on a flat surface on the bathroom floor or bed.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — If having a seizure — protect their head, do not hold them down. Remove them from water first.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Check breathing. If not breathing — start CPR immediately.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112 on speaker while doing CPR if alone.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Wrap in dry towels. Remove wet clothing if possible without stopping CPR.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112. Say: "Child drowning in bathtub. [Age]. [Breathing/not breathing]."
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Any bathtub submersion or near-drowning requires emergency hospital evaluation.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT leave a child alone in the bath for any reason — not even to answer the door or phone.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT put anything in the mouth of a seizing child.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT use a baby bath seat as a substitute for supervision — they can tip.
MYTH: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — It is safe to leave a child in the bath if the water is shallow
REALITY: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Children can drown in a few inches of water. Supervision must be constant and within arm's reach.
DANGER: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Parents step away "just for a minute" and return to find a submerged child.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Bathtub drowning can happen in seconds when a child slips under water, has a seizure, or is left unattended even briefly.
