REALITY: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Victims must get to fresh air AND receive medical oxygen. Symptoms return if CO blood levels remain high.
DANGER: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Cardiac arrest or brain injury from delayed hospital care.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Carbon monoxide binds to blood faster than oxygen — causing headache, confusion, collapse, death.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Common sources: gas heaters, charcoal indoors, generator exhaust, car in closed garage.
