DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Scrape each stinger flat with a credit card or fingernail — squeezing releases more venom.

REALITY: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Bees often wait at the surface and sting when the person comes up for air. Running to enclosed shelter is correct.
DANGER: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Person trapped underwater drowning while bees continue stinging at the surface.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Multiple bee or wasp stings inject large amounts of venom. This can cause shock, kidney injury, or allergic airway swelling.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Africanized honey bees and disturbed hives may chase people for long distances.
