Cannot breathe — choking rescue. Can breathe — call 112, stay upright, do not probe throat.

Step 1: If they cannot breathe or speak — treat as severe choking (back blows and thrusts)
Step 2: If breathing but distressed — call 112 and keep them calm and upright
Step 3: Do not try to grab the object unless you clearly see it in the mouth
Step 4: Note what the object was — especially if it is a button battery
Step 5: Do not give food or drink

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — For button battery: "Child swallowed a button battery — need emergency care now."
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Describe breathing status, age, and time since ingestion.

Button batteries, magnets, or complete blockage need emergency care within minutes to hours.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Button batteries and magnets in the airway or esophagus are emergencies — hospital removal within hours.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Any persistent foreign body sensation, worsening cough, or breathing difficulty needs imaging and professional removal.
