Call 112. Press hard on the wound. Do not stop. Add more cloth if needed.

Step 1: Call 112 or 108 immediately
Step 2: Press hard directly on the wound with a clean cloth or your hand
Step 3: Do not remove cloth if blood soaks through — add more on top
Step 4: Keep pressure until help arrives
Step 5: If limb bleeding will not stop, prepare to apply a tourniquet high on the limb

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT remove soaked bandages — this tears clots and restarts bleeding.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT give food, drink, or pain medicine unless emergency services tell you to.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT use a tourniquet unless direct pressure fails on a limb — tourniquets are a last resort.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT put your fingers inside a deep wound to find the source.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112 or 108. Put the phone on speaker so you can keep pressure.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Say: "Severe bleeding. Person is pale/weak. I am holding pressure on the wound."
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Give exact location, what caused the injury if known, and whether bleeding is slowing.

Any bleeding that does not stop with firm pressure, or any spurting blood, needs emergency care immediately.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — All severe external bleeding needs emergency care — even if it seems to stop.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call immediately if the person faints, stops responding, or breathing becomes difficult.
