Wash wound 15 minutes. Hospital for rabies shots now. Do not wait.

Step 1: Wash all wounds with soap and water for 15 minutes immediately
Step 2: Call 112 or go to hospital for rabies post-exposure treatment — do not wait
Step 3: Do NOT kill or handle the animal unless absolutely necessary for safety
Step 4: Note the animal type, location, and behavior for doctors
Step 5: Start treatment even if the animal cannot be found

Rabies post-exposure prophylaxis must begin as soon as possible — ideally within hours of exposure.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Full course of vaccine (and immunoglobulin for severe exposures) must be completed as directed.
