Call 112. Do not pull object out. Shield both eyes. Keep still.

Step 1: Call 112 immediately — say object is stuck in the eye
Step 2: Do NOT remove the object
Step 3: Cover both eyes with a rigid or paper cup shield — do not press on object
Step 4: Keep the person completely still
Step 5: Do not let them rub or touch the eye

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112. Say: "Penetrating eye injury — object still in place. Need ambulance."
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Give exact location and keep the person still during the call.

Any penetrating eye injury is an emergency — transport without delay.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Penetrating eye injuries require emergency surgical care.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do not eat or drink if surgery may be needed — follow dispatcher advice.

Know your limits: DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Shield, immobilize, and call for help. Never attempt to remove embedded objects.
