Step 1: Stock extra drinking water — at least 3 litres per person per day in heat
Step 2: Plan cool hours for errands — before 10 am or after 5 pm
Step 3: Check on elderly neighbours twice daily during heat alerts
Step 4: Prepare ORS sachets and know signs of heat stroke
Step 5: Use wet cloth on neck and wrists if AC or fan power fails
