Turn off heat. Cover pan with lid. Never use water. Leave and call 101 if it spreads.
Step 1: Turn off the heat source if you can reach it safely
Step 2: Slide a metal lid tightly over the pan to smother flames
Step 3: If you cannot cover it safely — get out and call 101
Step 4: Never use water — it causes explosive splatter
Step 5: Do not move the burning pan
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT pour water on burning oil — ever.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT use a wet cloth or fire extinguisher unless you know it is rated for grease.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT carry the pan outside or to the sink.
