Do not let them walk around or climb stairs — this increases strain on the heart.
Call 112. Sit them down. Do not let them drive. Stay with them.
Step 1: Call 112 immediately — say you suspect a heart attack
Step 2: Help them sit down and rest — do not let them walk or drive
Step 3: Loosen tight clothing around neck and chest
Step 4: If they have prescribed heart medicine (like nitroglycerin), help them take it as directed
Step 5: Stay with them and watch for worsening symptoms
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT let them drive themselves to hospital — call an ambulance.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT give them food or drink — they may need emergency procedures.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT tell them to "wait and see" if pain is severe or lasting.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT give aspirin unless they are not allergic and emergency guidance allows it — when in doubt, wait for the operator.
Any sudden severe chest pain lasting more than a few minutes needs emergency evaluation.
