Stay upwind. Do not touch the spill. Call 112. Flush skin with water if splashed.

Do This Now

Step 1: Move upwind and keep others away from the spill
Step 2: Do not touch, walk through, or drive over the material
Step 3: Call 112 and report the spill location and container labels if visible
Step 4: If splashed — move away and flush skin with running water for 15 minutes
Step 5: Remove contaminated clothing without pulling it over your face

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT try to soak up, dilute, or bury the spill with sand or water unless experts say so.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT smoke or use open flames near unknown spills — many chemicals are flammable.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT let children or pets near the area.

How to Call for Help

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Call 112. Say: "Chemical spill" and give road name, landmark, or GPS pin.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Read any visible label names or UN numbers to the operator.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Stay upwind and keep bystanders back until responders arrive.

When Professional Care Is Needed

Any unknown or large chemical spill needs hazmat response.

DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Anyone with chemical burns, breathing difficulty, or dizziness needs emergency medical care.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Hazmat teams must identify and clean the spill — civilians do not re-enter the area.
