If a fall from height or vehicle crash is suspected, avoid moving the head or neck.
Press on the head wound. Call 112 if heavy bleeding or they seem confused. Do not move the neck.
Step 1: Apply firm pressure around the wound with a clean cloth
Step 2: Call 112 if bleeding is heavy or the person was knocked unconscious
Step 3: Watch for vomiting, confusion, or drowsiness
Step 4: Do not move the neck if a fall or crash is suspected
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT wash deep scalp wounds with running water if bleeding is active.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT remove embedded objects from the head.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT let the person sleep or leave them alone after a significant head injury.
DEVELOPMENT FIXTURE — Do NOT move the neck if a fall or crash caused the injury.
Any head injury with loss of consciousness, confusion, repeated vomiting, or heavy bleeding needs emergency evaluation.
